Yesterday, the $ZEX Airdrop Claim went live! 💥

80 million $ZEX tokens are now in the hands of almost 80,000 real Zeta users, marking the beginning of community ownership on Zeta and propelling us towards our next phase.

Could there ever be a better moment for a new Community Town Hall? Well, no. In fact, it just happened. We dived deep into all things $ZEX, from the first 24 hours after the airdrop to Staking, Genesis Epoch’s programs, and what’s next for Zeta!

The $ZEX Airdrop: 24h Retrospective

We kicked things off with a review of the Airdrop - it’s been only 24 hours since the $ZEX claim went live, and we're totally blown away by the response from our amazing community.

• Out of the 80M $ZEX allocated to 80,000 users, 17.6M has been claimed and over 10.5M staked!

• Over 45% of airdrop claim participants chose to Diamond Hand to receive the staking airdrop coming up at the end of Genesis Epoch. Legends!

Staking and Staking Airdrop

Wondering why over 60% of the total $ZEX claimed is staked?

• Everyone staking $ZEX before July 25 will get a share of the Staking Airdrop (20M $ZEX). The more and longer you stake, the greater your allocation and staking benefits.

• If you haven’t claimed your token yet, opt for the Diamond Hand claim and stake your tokens in one go to maximize your benefits.

• $ZEX stakers enjoy boosted trading incentives from Epoch 1 and enhanced governance power (coming soon).

Zeta's Genesis Epoch

Even after the launch of $ZEX, Z-Score keeps playing a central role on Zeta!

At the end of each 28-day epoch, your Z-Score determines your share of the $ZEX rewards pool reserved for traders.

• The Genesis Epoch started with 8M $ZEX up for grabs for traders, to be distributed on July 25.

Creator and Ambassador Programs

Throwback and Milestones

We’ve been cooking Zeta for more than 3 years now, starting from the 2021 Solana Hackathon. It’s been quite a ride! We went through the FTX collapsed and Solana dropping to $8, but we never stopped believing in this ecosystem and we kept building, with the vision of creating the best place to trade perps on-chain.

• Our volume increased from $800 million to $10 billion, with monthly volume shooting up from $22 million to $3 billion.

• Our trader count jumped from 2.7k to 125k.

What's Next

After launching $ZEX, we’re already focused on Zeta X: our DeFi Layer 2 on Solana.

The majority of trades still happen on centralized exchanges. With Zeta X, we’re going to offer the same performance as CEXs, but with all the benefits of DeFi, including self-custody, transparency, and governance.

Any plans on listing new markets on Zeta?

Definitely. We’ve been fully focused on the launch, but new markets on Zeta are coming very soon!

How does Zeta X differenciate Zeta?

Right now, Zeta leverages a fully on-chain orderbook. Zeta X will take our performance to the next level, enabling us to make our order book extremely fast while providing abstracting features to ensure the best trading experience. All of this, paired with enhanced security and no congestion issues.

What’s the plans for governance? What proposals will we vote on?

As Zeta transitions towards a DAO model, $ZEX stakers will soon be able to participate in protocol decisions. This includes having a say in which markets to list, voting on important decisions around $ZEX, Zeta X, incentives distribution, gauges, and more. We’re already working on implementing governance and can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.
